Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 August 2026

This privacy policy explains how Jason Pereira (“I”, “me” or “my”) collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit jason-pereira.com, read Pixels + Data, use tools within the Pixels + Data Lab, contact me through the website, or use services such as the LinkedIn Audience Explorer.

I aim to collect only the information necessary to operate the website, provide its tools and services, understand how they are being used, and respond to people who contact me.

1. Who is responsible for your information?

For the purposes of UK data protection law, the data controller for this website is:

Jason Pereira
Email: contact@jason-pereira.com

If you have a question about your personal information or this privacy policy, you can contact me using the email address above.

2. Information I may collect

Depending on how you use the website, I may collect the following information.

Information you provide directly

If you contact me through the website or by email, I may receive information such as:

  • your name;
  • email address;
  • the subject of your enquiry;
  • the contents of your message; and
  • any other information you choose to provide.

Website and analytics information

When you visit the website, certain technical information may be processed automatically, including:

  • IP address;
  • browser and device type;
  • operating system;
  • pages visited;
  • referring website or source;
  • approximate geographic information;
  • date and time of visits; and
  • interactions with pages, articles and tools.

This information may be collected through website server logs, cookies and analytics technologies.

The website may use services including Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to help understand how visitors use the site. Where consent is required for analytics or other non-essential cookies, these technologies should only be activated after the appropriate consent has been provided.

3. Pixels + Data Lab tools

Interactive tools published within the Pixels + Data Lab may process information that you enter into them.

For example, this may include:

  • search terms;
  • marketing or audience criteria;
  • selected countries or locations;
  • company-size filters;
  • seniority filters;
  • campaign-planning inputs; and
  • interactions with the tool.

Where possible, these tools are designed to operate without requiring personally identifiable information.

Usage information may be analysed in aggregate to understand which tools and features are useful, improve their functionality and identify technical problems.

4. LinkedIn Audience Explorer

The LinkedIn Audience Explorer is designed to help users research and understand potential professional advertising audiences.

Prototype and illustrative data

Versions of the tool may use illustrative or demonstration data while features and integrations are being developed. Where this is the case, the tool will identify the information as prototype, illustrative or demo data.

LinkedIn connection

If live LinkedIn functionality is introduced and you choose to connect your LinkedIn account, you will be redirected to LinkedIn to authorise the connection.

LinkedIn will tell you what permissions the application is requesting before you choose whether to authorise it.

The application may then process information necessary to provide the requested functionality, such as:

  • LinkedIn account or member identifiers required for authentication;
  • information identifying LinkedIn advertising accounts you are authorised to access;
  • authorisation and authentication information;
  • targeting criteria you select;
  • LinkedIn advertising targeting entities;
  • aggregate or rounded audience estimates returned by LinkedIn;
  • searches and settings entered into the Audience Explorer; and
  • technical information required for security, troubleshooting and operation of the service.

Authentication credentials and access tokens will be handled server-side and will not intentionally be exposed publicly through the website.

Individual LinkedIn members

The Audience Explorer is not designed to scrape LinkedIn or create databases of individual LinkedIn members.

The audience-analysis functionality does not use LinkedIn to:

  • retrieve or display lists of individual members matching an audience;
  • scrape LinkedIn profiles;
  • create prospect lists from LinkedIn member data;
  • identify individuals within aggregate audience estimates;
  • enrich sales or CRM records using LinkedIn member information; or
  • sell or resell LinkedIn member data.

LinkedIn may provide limited information about the person authorising the application where this is necessary to establish and manage the authorised connection.

Aggregate LinkedIn data

Audience information displayed by the tool may include aggregated, rounded or otherwise privacy-protected information supplied through LinkedIn’s approved APIs.

Such data is used to provide audience research and advertising-planning functionality and is not intended to identify individual LinkedIn members.

Your use of LinkedIn remains subject to LinkedIn’s own terms, privacy policy and account settings.

5. How I use information

Information collected through the website may be used to:

  • operate and maintain the website;
  • provide Pixels + Data Lab tools;
  • provide functionality requested by you;
  • authenticate authorised connections to third-party services;
  • respond to enquiries;
  • understand how the website and its tools are being used;
  • measure website performance and engagement;
  • improve articles, tools and website functionality;
  • diagnose technical problems;
  • protect the website against abuse, fraud and security threats; and
  • comply with legal obligations.

I do not sell personal information.

6. Legal basis for processing

Where UK data protection law applies, personal information will only be processed where there is an appropriate legal basis.

Depending on the circumstances, this may include:

Legitimate interests — for example, operating and securing the website, responding to enquiries and understanding how services are being used, where these interests are not overridden by your rights.

Providing a service or taking steps at your request — for example, when you deliberately use a tool, request information or connect an authorised service.

Consent — where consent is required, including for certain non-essential cookies, analytics technologies or optional integrations.

Legal obligations — where information must be processed or retained to comply with applicable law.

Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

The website may use cookies and similar technologies.

Some cookies may be strictly necessary for the website to function, provide security or remember choices you make.

Other technologies may be used for analytics and measurement.

Where required by law, non-essential cookies and tracking technologies will not be used until you have been given appropriate information and an opportunity to consent.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings.

8. Third-party services

I may use trusted third-party service providers to operate and improve the website.

These may include:

  • website hosting providers;
  • WordPress and website infrastructure providers;
  • security and performance services;
  • analytics providers such as Google;
  • LinkedIn, where you choose to use LinkedIn-connected functionality; and
  • email or contact-form services.

These providers may process limited information where necessary to provide their services.

Third-party websites and services have their own privacy policies and are responsible for the way they process information under those policies.

9. How long information is kept

Personal information is kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.

As a general approach:

  • contact enquiries and related correspondence may be retained for up to 24 months after the last meaningful communication, unless there is a legitimate reason to retain them longer;
  • security and server logs are normally retained for a limited period appropriate to security and troubleshooting needs;
  • analytics information is retained in accordance with the retention settings of the relevant analytics service;
  • temporary tool data and cached results may be deleted or overwritten automatically;
  • LinkedIn authentication or connection information will be retained only for as long as necessary to maintain an authorised connection or provide the requested functionality; and
  • information may be retained for longer where required by law, to resolve a dispute, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Where information is no longer required, it will be deleted, anonymised or allowed to expire where technically appropriate.

10. International data transfers

Some service providers used by the website may process information outside the United Kingdom.

Where personal information is transferred internationally, appropriate safeguards will be used where required by applicable data protection law.

11. Security

Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect information against unauthorised access, misuse, loss or disclosure.

However, no website, online service or method of electronic transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

12. Your data protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights including the right to:

  • request access to personal information held about you;
  • ask for inaccurate information to be corrected;
  • ask for information to be deleted;
  • ask for processing to be restricted;
  • object to certain uses of your information;
  • request transfer of certain information where applicable;
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and
  • complain about the way your personal information has been handled.

To exercise any of these rights, contact:

contact@jason-pereira.com

You also have the right to raise a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator.

13. Automated decision-making

The website and Pixels + Data Lab tools are not intended to make solely automated decisions about individuals that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

Audience estimates and marketing recommendations provided by tools are informational and should not be treated as decisions about individual people.

14. Links to other websites

The website may contain links to third-party websites.

I am not responsible for the privacy practices, content or security of those websites. You should review the privacy information provided by those services when visiting them.

15. Changes to this policy

This privacy policy may be updated as the website, Pixels + Data Lab and its tools develop or where legal or technical requirements change.

The latest version will always be published on this page together with the date it was last updated.
